This year Anansi is proud to announce its first Ghanaian sponsor, Joe Hanson. Joe has known Kathryn for many years, as the Hansons are Kathryn’s Ghanaian family. He was born and raised near Mpeasem. He manages Hans Cottage Botel, which is owned by his father, Kwesi Hanson.
This year Anansi saw a very large number of applicants, and Joe was present during some of the selection process. Seeing the number of students who remained without scholarship, he stepped up and became a sponsor himself. He specifically requested a very smart girl and was placed with Anansi student Suwauba Malgoro Ibrahim.
