Mole Park

Wildlife and Scenery at Mole Park

Located in the northwest part of Ghana, Mole Park is the largest game park in West Africa. Here you will see elephants, baboons, monkeys, warthogs, antelope, birds and a few, but not too many, tourists. The hotel in the Park is reasonably priced with good food and a swimming pool. It is, however, a bit of a chore to get to the Park. The bus schedules from Tamale are not always reliable and catching a bus at the Tamale junction if coming from Kumasi can be chancy. Add to that the fact that the road is rough from the junction — it makes sense to use an Anansi guide to help or to hire a taxi either from Tamale or Kumasi.

The Park guides are knowledgeable as well as friendly. The walking safaris are a must with one early in the morning and one late in the afternoon.
