The Ghana funeral pictured here was in celebration of the life of an Ashanti woman age 54 in Kumasi. This funeral lasted for three days beginging with the viewing of the deceased by friends and relatives early in the morning before the rising of the sun. These photos tell the story of sadness with red and black clothes worn on the first day, the dancing, including the traditional handkerchief dances, and the wearing of adinkra cloth on Sunday, the last day of this ceremonial life celebration.
