We at Anansi will do our best to help design the most rewarding trip possible for you in West Africa. To begin the planning process, please submit the Anansi Information Form. One or two staff people (one in the U.S. and one in Africa) will begin email correspondence with you to determine the detailed plans for your stay in West Africa. Anansi's primary focus is to help provide an authentic, safe, meaningful experience for people interested in traveling to West Africa. We are convinced that Anansi will save you time and money while enhancing your trip immeasurably with an inside look at the culture of West Africa. Our guides are all indigenous West African people who know the area well, know much about the culture and art of West Africa, and are happy to help make your adventure in Africa a wonderful, never to be forgotten experience.

Another primary consideration we have at Anansi is to provide responsible travel in a non-exploitive manner which is one of the reasons we recommend one guide for one, two or three people using public transportation for their travel within West Africa. The premise that we can provide sensitive enlightened travel, thus making the world a better place through understanding, is shared by the staff at Dream Weaver Travel where Dudley has posted their "Guidelines For Responsible Travel."

Anansi Staff:

The founding members of "Anansi" are all residents of Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire and the United States. Three of them are Ghanaian, two are Ivoirian and one is an American. They are all dedicated to helping you enjoy the best possible holiday or extended time in Ghana and/or neighboring countries. All of these people were instrumental in the success of the Whatcom Community College African Project during the fall of 2000. They are all experienced West African travelers with knowledge and love of the tradition and culture of this part of Africa.

Anansi Self Designed Package Travel Prices:

Anansi package prices start at $2,500 U.S. per person for a ten day stay in Ghana including air fare from New York to Accra. The exact price of any trip will vary depending on the time of year (high or low season), the length of your stay and your choices for lodging, food, activities, and travel. Shortly after you have established contact with our staff, we will ask you to provide evidence of the serious nature of your inquiry by sending an earnest money fee of $100 to Anansi. This is your registration fee which will be applied to the cost of your trip.

Payment of fees:

$100 U.S. non-refundaable registration fee will be sent to Anansi Travel at the beginning of the planning stage of your trip. One half of the cost of your travel plans will be paid three months prior to your departure, and the full amount one month before departure for West Africa.
